Aurora Weier Early College Bilingual High School

As a part of my field experience, I was given the opportunity to team-teach a workshop at Aurora Weier Early College Bilingual High School. My partner and I based our lessons around student interest and the subculture of tattoo art. What you will find here is our lesson plan for how we presented tattoo design along with some samples of what solutions the students came up with.

Elm School of the Creative Arts

I spent the first half of my student teaching semester working at Elm School of the Creative Arts. I was able to design and implement many lessons for many grade levels, K4-5th. Here you will find two lessons that connect through a thematic unit based on imaginary animals. I presented these lessons to the first graders. Their imaginations and energy made these lessons extremely successful.

Riverside University High School

The second half of my student teaching I spent working in the art department at Riverside University High School. My day consisted of two two dimensional foundations classes and three introduction to fibers classes. By the middle of my stay, I had taken full responsibility for the two dimensional foundations courses. I used the subculture of graffiti design as a way to teach students about color theory. Here you will find a downloadable Power Point that I used to present graffiti design with an outline of my lecture that accompanied it. You will also find downloadable versions of all the hand outs, quizzes, rubrics and exercises I used to aid myself in teaching color theory and graffiti design. Finally you will find the lesson plan for presenting graffiti design and some examples of student work.
